In early December 2016 an exhibition space, Artplay SPb, will be opened on Krasnogvardeyskaya Square. The news came from the cluster’s creator Sergey Desyatkov.
The artistic space will be located on the site of the former Central Design Bureau of Machine Building. According to the plan, a lot of attention in the cluster will be placed on showrooms, commerce, exhibition halls, and educational environments.
“Saint Petersburg is an excellent platform for the creation of such projects, because it is the second city in Russia in terms of the amount of new construction (3.3 million square meters in 2014). In addition, there is a unique gray belt of about 200 factories in the historic center, with a total area of 19,000 hectares,” said Sergey Desyatkov. It should be noted that the Artplay creative cluster has been working successfully in Moscow for a few years. Interestingly, by the number of Google search requests it is almost as popular as the traditional Moscow’s attractions - the Tretyakov Gallery, the Gorky Park, and others.
