1st day

09:00 – Group meets at the VDNH station, right to the Kosmos hotel.

09:15 - Travel to Sergiev Posad.

10:30 - An excursion around Troitsa-Sergieva Lavra.

Departure to Pereyaslavl-Zalesskiy.

12:00 - Pereyaslavl-Zalesskiy - The home town of Alexander Nevskiy and the birthplace of the Russian navy. An excursion around the town, a stop for photos on the Red Square, Plescheevo ozero, Botik of Peter I.

Departure to Rostov Velikiy.

13:00 - Lunch

14:30 - An excursion to the Rostov’s Kremlin - the residence of Rostov’s bishops and archbishops (architecture of the Rostov’s Kremlin from the exterior).

The architectural ensemble of the Rostov’s Kremlin, the jewel of which is the Uspenskiy Temple (XVI cent.), with its unique bell tower, where a set of 15 bells is fully preserved; the Bishop’s Yard, the Temple square and the Metropolitan’s Garden. An exhibition of ceramics in the Kremlin.

An exposition: “Walls and passages of the Rostov’s Kremlin” (small passages).

2nd day

08:00 - Breakfast at the hotel restaurant.

08:30 - Departure to Yaroslavl.

10:00 - The tour program around Yaroslavl.

You will see the delta of the Volga and Kotorsl, the Uspenskiy Cathedral Temple, stroll along the Volzhskaya promenade, renovated for the 1000th [JM1] anniversary of the city, and observe the unique architectural ensemble in the central part of Yaroslavl, which is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

A visit to the Spaso-Preobrazhenskiy monastery - the main city attraction. Due to its fortified walls it is called a Kremlin. The main temple of the monastery still holds its original paintings; this is the oldest temple in Yaroslavl, which has been preserved until today. Here “Slovo o Polku Igoreve”, the handwritten list of the masterpiece of ancient Russian literature, was found.

See the Ilya the Prophet’s Church (interior - in summer, exterior - in winter) - an outstanding monument of Yaroslavl architecture.

Departure to Kostroma.

14:00 - Lunch at the hotel restaurant.

15:00 - A city tour around Kostroma.

Introduction to the merchant town that has preserved the original appearance of its architectural ensemble from the 18th century until the present.

See the central square (“frying-pan”), trade rows, firefighter’s watchtower from the 19th century.

Ipatievskiy monastery (the Temple of Troitsa, the tomb or chamber of Romanovs) - the main symbol of Kostroma, the birthplace of the Romanov dynasty.

A visit to theBogoyavlensko-Anastasiinyi monastery, where the miraculous icon of Fedorovskaya Virgin (13th century) is kept.

Departure to the hotel.

19:00 - Dinner at the hotel restaurant.


3rd day

07:00 - Breakfast at the hotel restaurant.

Departure to Suzdal.

A city tour in Ivanovo.

11:00 - A city tour around Suzdal - a town-museum with roughly 200 historical monuments, many of which have UNESCO world heritage status.

A visit to the city’s attractions:

The Kremlin with its Krestovaya Chamber - the ceremonial hall of the bishop’s parish, where the Tsar’s edicts were declared and pleas were listened to.

Spaso-Ephimievskiy monastery with a concert of the bells.

A wooden architecture meuseum with unique buildings from the 17-19th centuries.

Pokrovskiy monastery (from the viewing platform) - the women’s convent, which holds many secrets.

14:00 - Lunch.

Accommodation at the GTK Tour center 3* hotel in Suzdal (additional hotels: Sokol 3* in Suzdal, Zolotoye Koltso 3* in Vladimir).

15:00 - Free time.

19:00 - Dinner at the hotel’s restaurant.


4th day

07:00 - Breakfast at the hotel restaurant.

Free time.

13:00 - Lunch at the hotel restaurant.

An excursion to the Kideksha village. A visit to the Church of Boris and Gleb (interior), built by Yuriy Dolgorukiy in 1152.

19:00 - Departure to the hotel.

20:00 - Dinner at the hotel restaurant.


5th day

08:00 - Breakfast at the hotel restaurant.

09:30 - Departure to Bogolyubovo village. An excursion around Bogolyubovo: the Bogolyubskiy monastery and the Pokrova na Nerli Church.

12:00 Departure to Vladimir, the ancient capital of Northeastern Russia. Its ancient, white-stone monuments are world-renown.

An excursion around Vladimir with a visit to architectural monuments from the XII century: the Golden Gates (architecture) - a symbol of the greatness and power of ancient Russia.

Dmitrievskiy temple - a monument of Vladimir-Suzdal architecture from the pre-Mongol period.

Uspenskiy temple - A masterpiece of white-stone architecture, where Andrey Rublev’s frescoes are preserved.

The “Crystal, lacquered miniatures and embroidery” Museum, or the “Old Vladimir” exposition (which talks about the city at the end of the XIX-beginning of the XXth century).

14:00 - Lunch at the restaurant in Vladimir.

15:00 - Departure to Moscow.

20:00 - Approximate time of arrival in Moscow (VDNH subway station).
