During the tour program of Petrozavodsk you will see the main historical attractions of the capital of the Republic of Karelia. “The Doll's House” museum. Departure for the first Russian resort Martsyalnye Vody founded by Peter I.  Guided tour to the Kivach Reserve, one of the oldest reserves in Russia. Right next to the waterfall is another attraction - an arboretum, which features the most common types of trees native to Karelia.






1st Day

Meeting of the group in the Petrozavodsk railway station.

Breakfast in cafe.
Excursion to the museum of Tatiana Kalinina’s handcrafted dolls “The Doll's House”. There are unique handmade dolls, including Kizhi house goblins, spirits, "eternal children", gnomes, and other unusual creatures. In the museum you will have the opportunity to buy souvenirs.

During the tour you will hear the history and see the main attractions of the capital of the Republic of Karelia.
A visit to Lenin Square (formerly Round Square), a walk around the Governor's garden, a visit to the memorial complex "Fraternal grave and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier with the Eternal Flame", a tour to the Kirov Square (formerly Cathedral Square). A visit to the waterfront of Lake Onega, where there is a monument to Peter I, the founder of the city of Petrozavodsk (it is for a reason, that Petrozavodsk is called a younger brother of St. Petersburg).
Next a delicious and rich lunch is waiting for you in a city café.
Hotel check-in. A little bit of spare time and we are off for a tour to discover the culture of the Karelia Region.
A visit to the House of Kantele. Kantele is a unique Karelian-Finnish instrument. Ancient. Mysterious. Some mystery seems to be hidden in it, and its sound is mesmerizing with its magic lyricism. In the House of Kantele we will be able to enjoy the sounds of this beautiful folk musical instrument. A light holiday musical program will be waiting for us in the concert hall, followed by a folk New Year’s Eve interactive Razgulai party that will embrace you in the dance hall of the Kantele House. A company of the Karelian Ded Moroz will perfectly brighten up the day and raise the New Year’s Holiday mood.

2nd Day

Departure to the village of Matrosy (about 32 km from Petrozavodsk).

Meeting dog team drivers and nice, cute and good inhabitants of the kennel – the dogs of the Chukchi sled breed, Siberian Huskies, Alaskan Malamutes, Taimyr sled dogs.

Return to Petrozavodsk.

Departure for the first Russian resort Martsyalnye Vody founded by Peter I.

The uniqueness of the resort is in mineral waters of a rare composition and a record breaking content of the iron. Peter I repeatedly came here to receive medical treatment at the resort with his family and the court’s nobles. Since then iron-rich waters are called Martsyalnye Vody in honor of Mars, the god of war and iron. Currently several flowing wells are in operation. During the tour to the resort you will taste water from these sources.

Guided tour to the Kivach Reserve, one of the oldest reserves in Russia.

Kivach Waterfall is the most famous waterfall in Karelia. Kivach has occupied a prominent place in the works of many poets, artists and novelists. Right next to the waterfall is another attraction - a dendrologic collection, which features the most typical trees in Karelia, including several varieties of birch trees (including the Karelian birch).

Return to Petrozavodsk.

Dinner in the cafe.

End of the program, transfer to the train station.
